Ballet Gala in Seteais

This year’s International Ballet Gala in Seteais, near Sintra in Portugal, will feature Emma Riis-Kofoed and Jonathan Chmelensky (Royal Danish Ballet) in pas de deux from Kermesse in Bruges and Cinderella, Elena Bottaro and Lourenço Ferreira (Wiener Staatsballett) in pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet and The Sleeping Beauty, Gaia Mentoglio and Mirko Campigiotto (Ballett Theater Basel) in a duet from Coppélia and C’est Toi, and Margarita Fernandes and António Casalinho (Bayerisches Staatsballett) in pas de deux from Giselle and Diana and Actaeon on 1 July, and a repeat of the programme with Mirjana Atanasovska and Guilherme Gameiro Alves (Croatian National Ballet), instead of Fernandes and Casalinho, in Near This and Leave Me on 2 July. Under the artistic direction of Solange Melo and Fernando Duarte, the performances take place in the beautiful gardens of the Hotel-Palácio de Seteais. Video features excerpts from last year.

The Messums Dance Film Festival is part of a ten-day dance and dance film festival taking place in the largest thatched building in Wiltshire and runs this year from 14 - 23 July. More info at

Genesis International Choreographic Competition

8 - 11 February 2024
Three choreographers will be selected to create new work on the dancers of Milwaukee Ballet.
Roundtrip transportation to Milwaukee, hotel and daily per diem provided.

Ballet Auction

British Bespoke Auction's first sale of ballet memorabilia on 11 May 2023 attracted over 400 people world wide and with some competitive bidding between buyers both sides of the Atlantic. The most covetted lot no. 183, a photograph of Nijinsky and Karsavina in Le Spectre e la rose, signed by both dancers, went for £6,000. Another ballet auction is planned for later in the year.
